Dejan Terzic - 2007.Underground Continuum (Jazz Rock-Fusion • Bavarian)

Drummer Dejan Terzic is one of a couple of handfuls of young musicians living in Germany who have begun to make their presence felt on the world jazz scene in the last decade. The reason for this abundance of budding world class talent taking root and flourishing in the German jazz soil is a theme for the jazz historian - but the fact is that Germany has become fertile ground for contemporary jazz. Dejan was born in Banja Luka in what was then Yugoslavia. His Serbian family moved to Germany when Dejan was 3 years old. He began playing piano at the age of 6, and took up drums at 12, playing art first in rock and funk groups. His induction into the world of jazz came through the back door. Listening to Sting's album "Bring On the Night", he was grabbed by the playing of pianist Kenny Kirkland and saxophonist Branford Marsalis. It was at this point that his exploration of the world of jazz began in earnest. In the summer of 1991 Terzic journeyed to the Vermont Jazz Center, run by the legendary Hungarian guitarist Attilla Zoller. Attilla proved to be a major influence on Dejan, encouraging him, and clueing him in on the subtleties of group dynamics and improvisation. During the same summer Terzic became a member of New York's Drummer's Collective, where he studied with among others, Marvin Smitty Smith and Bill Stewart. Back in Germany, Dejan began studying at the conservatory in Wurzburg where he met up with drummer Bill Elgart, one of the most original creative players on the scene. Terzic's comment was, "...he brought me to some really different stuff..." The next few years were hectic ones, filled with studies and gigs. Stephan Micus fez a sua primeira grande viagem ao Oriente quando tinha 16 anos, ficou fascinado pela variedade de culturas musicais espalhadas por todo o mundo. Estudou música com os mestres locais dos vários países por onde ia passando e aprendeu a tocar inúmeros instrumentos tradicionais, muitos deles desconhecidos no mundo ocidental, nomeadamente a Dilruba (Índia), o Nay (Egito), o Sarangi (Índia), o Bodhran (Irlanda), o Duduk (Arménia) e o Mudbedsh (Iraque). Filoritmia - same (2000) Rock Progressivo Italiano

Não conheço o álbum de 2009, se alguém puder mandar pra mim, agradeço! Este disco de estréia é muito bom, mais uma excelente banda Italiana de progressivo.

Filoritmia were founded in Milan in September, 1993 but it was only in 1997 that the band found the ideal line up, when Roberto Riccardi (guitars) and Matteo Scarparo (bass) joined the historical nucleus formed by Angelo D'Ariano (keyboards), Antonio Mazzucchelli (drums) and Giorgio Mele (vocals). The band alternated live performances to periods dedicated to composition when each member gave his contribution into a fusion of energies. In September 2000 they released their first eponymous album, completely self-produced.

According to the band it's hard to define their style: "It could be rocky, funky, jazzy, delicate or sharp, smooth and simple or full of sudden changes. We like breaking the rhythm and those patterns that we ourselves have created. Everything is a tool to create an atmosphere or a feeling through the music. First of all, we'd like to point out that, though most of the people consider our music as progressive, we think it's hard to compare us with any other progressive band, be it old or new. Even if we all love the classics of progressive rock (we love certain songs of PFM, BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO, AREA, GENESIS, MARILLION), we don't draw our inspiration from any particular muse"

Dave Pike Set - Got The Feelin' (1969)

David Samuel Pike toca vibrafone. Ele aprendeu bateria aos oito anos de idade e é auto-didata na vibes. Ele também toca marimba , particularmente com Herbie Mann .

Alrune Rod - Tatuba Tapes (1975) Psychedelic/Space Rock • Denmark

Disquinho bão! Psicodelico com uma pitada de prog/space rock, bem legal! A segunda faixa é excelente. Upei faixa por faixa mas no skydrive você tem a opção de baixar tudo em um unico arquivo zip, bom pra quem tem conexão rapida e quem não tem não fica de fora podendo baixar uma faixa de cada vez. Enjoy!

Skydrive do Contramão

O tempo vai passando e gosto de acreditar que estou ficando cada vez mais prática, a idéia de postar álbuns e locais como o Mediafire, 4Shared, FreakShare entre outros é ótima, porém nada prática, escolhi postar os meus álbuns agora em meu skydrive, local totalmente privado, gerenciado por mim, sem a interverencia de terceiros, para ser um pouco mais prática ainda nesta postagem abro a pasta Contramão do meu Skydrive para quem estiver interessado em baixar algumas pérolas, vejam na foto os álbuns que estão lá, a grande vantagem para quem tem uma conexão boa é a opção de baixar tudo num pacote zip, bom né!
